About the Artist :
Diane
Fleetwood was born in Manassas, Virginia and Country Southern Gospel and Bluegrass runs through her veins. Music has always been a part of Diane's life as her family would sing and play the guitar, mandolin and fiddle.
Her earliest memories are singing a favorite called "Don't Cry Joni" with her dad when she was about 8 years old. She sang
often at the church, singing the old hymns and learning to sing harmony.
Her love of music continued in high school band as she played the
trumpet, saxaphone, french horn, clarinet, bass clarinet and finally her
favorite instrument, the contra-bass clarinet. She was also Field
Commander for the marching Blackhawk Brigade for three seasons.
After high school Diane learned to play the guitar and joined a
rockin' country band, playing into the wee hours of the morning at any
dance hall that was available. That lasted about 5 years. After this
group disbanded, Diane invested in soundtracks, and continued to sing
country music.
In 1999, Diane heard a life changing sermon about the destiny of
her children being in her hands. She knew she was not leading them
toward eternal life. She had been living for herself. At that point
she began taking her boys to church and dedicated her life to Christ.
Over the past eight years Diane has penned many songs about coming
to know Christ. Each song has a special and personal experience that
has gone into its making.
